Healthy Built Environment Coordinator (NSHA, Public Health Central Zone)
Reporting to the Manager Healthy Communities, the Healthy Built Environments Coordinator (HBEC) will work collaboratively with planners, engineers and other stakeholders to identify strategic areas of action, and accelerate integration of health considerations into land use, transportation and various health built environment policies. Much of this work will align with principles of smart growth, Transportation Demand Management and Transit-Oriented Development. This position will also bring a focus on reducing health inequities related to the build environment. As a member of the Healthy Communities team, the Healthy Built Environment Coordinator will contribute to an understanding of the health impacts of built environments, the opportunities for improvement and collaboration with stakeholders to promote community designs that facilitate active transportation and integration of physical activity in daily life.

The Town of Conception Bay South is inviting applications for the position of Development Control Coordinator in its Department of Planning and Development. This is a responsible position that ensures the compatibility of all new development as well as its compliance with regulations, objectives and planning strategies.
The position requires a full knowledge of the Town’s Municipal Plan and Development Regulations and their application in all building development and activity. The work requires the incumbent to receive all applications for new residential, commercial/industrial development for the purpose of assuring compliance with municipal requirements.
The position will frequently be a front line of contact with the public and requires the incumbent to employ diplomacy and tact, as well as the ability to deal professionally with the public.
