The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Professional Planners (NLAPP) is pleased to host Randal Greene and Paola Vincent from Feaver’s Lane Enterprises Inc. at a Planners’ Plate on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 12:30 (NL time).
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a mature family of technologies that can provide decision-support information for different spatial problems. Feaver’s Lane (https://feaverslane.com/) is a consultancy with deep experience in environmental and natural resource management applications of GIS. In recent years, we have expanded our customer base to include many small municipalities in Newfoundland and Labrador, working closely with the town staff and/or their contracted planner. President Randal Greene will give a brief overview of GIS and Feaver’s Lane, including new and emerging capabilities. GIS consultant Paola Vincent will then showcase several municipal examples to set the stage for an open discussion.
This is a virtual session. No registration required. Please join the Planners’ Plate by using this link.
Paola Vincent’s education includes a Bachelor of Science (Geography major with Biology minor), with special interests in geographic information systems (GIS), physical geography, biogeography, and conservation biology. Some of her technical training and experience in spatial analysis include municipal planning and management, habitat protection, restoration and enhancement, species mapping, multi-criteria screening and site selection, and imagery processing.
Randal Greene has been facilitating decisions for over 30 years. Applications have ranged from management information for healthcare, tourism, and telecommunications, to real-time situation awareness for marine navigation and surveillance. He now concentrates on GIS for conservation planning, natural resource management, and related applications through the consultancy he founded, Feaver’s Lane.
