New Ethical Standards take effect January 1, 2027
Updated Ethical Standards for professional planners have been adopted. They replace API’s current Code of Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct on January 1, 2027. Until then, the current codes below remain in effect. Review the new Code of Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct
Members must agree to abide by the Professional Code of Ethics and the Professional Code of Conduct.
The four provincial associations have also adopted a Joint Policy of Professional Conduct.
The Professional Practice Review Committee will, at the request of a provincial association, investigate a complaint filed against a member. Complaints can be filed using the Complaint Form. The accompanying guide provides additional information on filing a complaint.
