2025 Volunteer Award Recipients

October 27, 2025
Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, and we want to recognize some of the people who’ve gone above and beyond in 2025. Their commitment, energy, and generosity make all the difference.

Fredrick VanRooyan has spent the past three years as Co-Chair of the Atlantic Planners Conference Planning Committee. His leadership, vision, and dedication have helped make each conference a success, bringing together learning, networking, and community. Balancing this demanding role with his work as Senior Planner for the City of Fredericton, Fredrick exemplifies the commitment and passion that strengthen our profession.

Alton Glenn has shown an exceptional and long-standing commitment to the planning profession, to the Atlantic Planners Institute, and to the Newfoundland & Labrador Association of Professional Planners. Over the years, Alton has been a dedicated member of the Atlantic Planners Conference Committee, focusing on sponsorships and contributing to the success of each event. Just as importantly, Alton has been a generous mentor, supporting candidate planners and colleagues alike with guidance and encouragement.

Andrew Smith has made valuable contributions through his time, expertise, and commitment to the work of the Atlantic Planners Institute. Andrew’s efforts have supported the success of our programs and strengthened our professional community. We’re pleased to recognize him for his meaningful volunteer service and dedication to advancing the planning profession.
