Jill MacLellan is senior planner with Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). Her focus is on developing land use policy and programs to support the development and retention of affordable housing.  Jill’s projects range from simplifying/removing barriers to in land use regulation to developing financial incentives to support non-profits developing affordable housing.  Jill represents HRM in the Housing and Homelessness Partnership which is a collaborative of the 3 levels of government, health authority and private and non-profit housing sector, with the goal to end homelessness in Halifax.

The fall of 2020 saw HRM Regional Council adopt several initiatives to support affordable housing.  HRM Planner, Jill MacLellan will provide an overview of such initiatives and ongoing work to support affordable housing by HRM.
