The City has embarked upon an exciting period of change and growth and is seeking to fill the newly created role of Director, Integrated Growth.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and a key member of the City’s Senior Leadership Team, the Director has overall accountability for the City’s Official Plan, infrastructure, planning objectives, and growth strategies. To do so, the Director oversees and provides strategic leadership to a diverse portfolio of departments encompassing the Corporate Real Estate, Economic Development, Tourism, Events, Municipal Engineering & Infrastructure, and Planning & Heritage teams.

As an ideal candidate, you are a dynamic and forward-thinking leader with 10+ years of progressive experience in planning, engineering, or economic development, ideally within a municipal context. You are an outstanding communicator with a track record of creating effective relationships based on trust across a broad constituency of public and private stakeholders. Highly regarded for your integrity, political acuity, authenticity, and strong negotiation skills, the City will benefit from your proven experience leading a diverse portfolio while working effectively with elected officials, boards and the development community. Your entrepreneurial spirit and strong business acumen are clearly demonstrated through a track record of success in facilitating change and growth. You are an empowering and inclusive leader with a reputation for inspiring and mentoring strong and cohesive teams. People appreciate you for your collaborative approach, transparency, bias to action, and passion for building communities and guiding growth. To be considered, you must hold (or be able to acquire) the Registered Professional Planner designation through the Prince Edward Island Institute of Professional Planners/Canadian Institute of Planners or a P.Eng designation from Engineers PEI.
