The Eastern District Planning Commission provides planning and development services for the Counties of Antigonish, Inverness, Richmond, Victoria and the Towns of Antigonish and Port Hawkesbury through the efforts of a small team of planners, inspectors, technical and support staff.  We are presently accepting applications for the newly created position of: Manager of Planning Services.

As a lead member of our team, the successful candidate will be a professional who can provide daily support, leadership, coaching and mentoring to all members on the Planning Services Team; someone who will perform a variety of tasks related to the provision of long and short-term policy and regulatory advice to our Councils.

The successful candidate will have a combination of planning experience and education which will have prepared them for the challenges of working with minimal supervision and significant control over their schedule; A post-secondary degree in land use planning, or a related discipline; Membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners. Must have a valid drivers’ license in good standing and the use of a personal vehicle. The salary range (April 1, 2024) for this position is $81,600 to $105,060 commensurate to experience.
