The Eastern District Planning Commission provides planning and development services for the Counties of Antigonish, Inverness, Richmond, Victoria and the Towns of Antigonish and Port Hawkesbury through the efforts of a small team of planners, inspectors, technical and support staff. We are presently accepting applications for the position of: Municipal Planner

As a member of our team, the successful candidate will be a professional who can take initiative and work independently while keeping the rest of the team updated; someone who will perform a variety of tasks related to the provision of long and short-term policy and regulatory advice to our Municipal Councils. A working knowledge of the Nova Scotia Municipal Government Act, and software associated with a planning office is therefore essential for this position.

The successful candidate will have a combination of planning experience and education which will have prepared him/her for the challenges of working with minimal supervision and with significant control over their schedule. Membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners is preferred. Must have a valid drivers’ license in good standing and the use of a personal vehicle.
