Nominations Now Open for the 2026 Murray Pinchuk Community Builder Award

August 6, 2026
The Prince Edward Island Institute of Professional Planners (PEIIPP) welcomes nominations for the 2026 Murray Pinchuk Community Builder Award.

Established in 2013 in honour of the late Murray Pinchuk, the Award recognizes individuals, groups, or organizations that, through exemplary volunteerism, leadership, or action, have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to making Prince Edward Island a better place for current and future generations. Nominees should have made a significant contribution to either the built environment or the natural environment, helping to strengthen Island communities and enhance quality of life.

The most recent recipient of the Murray Pinchuk Community Builder Award was the Town of Stratford (2025), recognized for its work on Shape Stratford, a community-driven initiative that helped shape the municipality's long-term vision for growth and development.

The Institute encourages nominations from across Prince Edward Island and welcomes submissions that highlight efforts to build more sustainable, inclusive, vibrant, and resilient communities.

Nominations for the 2026 Award will be accepted until September 23, 2026.

Members of the public are invited to review the Award criteria and complete a nomination form, available here: https://atlanticplanners.org/provincial-associations/prince-edward-island/murray-pinchuk-community-builder-award/2026-murray-pinchuk-community-builder-award-nomination-form/

The recipient of the 2026 Murray Pinchuk Community Builder Award will be announced on November 8, 2026, in recognition of World Town Planning Day.

The Prince Edward Island Institute of Professional Planners is proud to continue Murray Pinchuk's legacy by celebrating those whose vision, dedication, and community spirit leave a lasting positive impact on Prince Edward Island.
